Cahokia - Illinois Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Prater Made His Presence Known in Dupo's 48-14 Defeat

Starting off the list is Dupo's Deegan Prater, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Prater rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 200 yards and a touchdown.

This season, Prater has thrown 13 touchdowns while averaging 172.6 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he had five rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to ten.

Gamescore: 34.68

Wesclin took down Red Bud on Friday, a win that might not have happened without William Waggoner's effort. Red Bud had no answer to Waggoner as he rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 34 receiving yards.

Wesclin's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5. Waggoner will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Carlyle on Friday.

Cael Madden Goes Supernova in Wesclin Win

Another Wesclin player making an appearance on this list is Cael Madden. He rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 92 yards and a touchdown. He is becoming a predictor of Wesclin's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 0-4 when he doesn't).

For the year, Madden has thrown 4 touchdowns while averaging 65.3 passing yards per game.

Dequan Woods Delivers Best Effort of Season

Sadly, Dequan Woods posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Sparta/Steeleville over Carlyle on Friday. Woods picked up 84 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending a pass.

Sparta/Steeleville is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7. Woods and Sparta/Steeleville will be playing in front of their home fans against Dupo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Tyler Loucks Makes It Two for Sparta/Steeleville

Keeping Woods company is Tyler Loucks, a fellow Sparta/Steeleville player. He picked up 51 receiving yards.

On the season, Loucks has averaged 30.1 receiving yards per game.
