Recap: Crimson Cliffs Mustangs vs. Ridgeline Riverhawks
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 31-24 win over Ridgeline. Winning may never get old, but Crimson Cliffs sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.
It was another big night for McCord Christiansen, who rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Malakai Alofipo did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 84 receiving yards.
Even if they lost, Ridgeline's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Crimson Cliffs' QB was sacked four times before it was all said and done. Krew Jones was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up 2.5 sacks himself.
Crimson Cliffs pushed their record up to 13-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.6 points. As for Ridgeline, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
Crimson Cliffs will play host again and welcome Green Canyon, where kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Green Canyon will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Ridgeline does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
