Volleyball Recap: Broadalbin-Perth Comes Up Short

Broadalbin-Perth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Queensbury Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Tuesday.

Broadalbin-Perth was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Queensbury work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 23-25, 25-9, 25-17.

Ava Therrien paced Broadalbin-Perth's offense, picking up 17 kills. Therrien got some help from Payton Foy and her 28 assists. Finally, Chloe Hopkins kept Broadalbin-Perth's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Broadalbin-Perth's loss dropped their record down to 10-17-2. As for Queensbury, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2.

Broadalbin-Perth didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Glens Falls on the 16th. As for Queensbury, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 win against South Glens Falls on the 16th.
