Softball Game Preview: Kennedy Catholic Lancers vs. Auburn Trojans

The Kennedy Catholic Lancers will head out to face off against the Auburn Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Kennedy Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Kennedy Catholic fell victim to Kentridge and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to the Chargers. The loss continues a trend for the Lancers in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost three in a row.

Bella Frank spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits.

Meanwhile, Auburn came into Friday's game having lost 15 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Kent-Meridian with a sharp 20-6 victory on Friday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Trojans' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Auburn's win bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Kennedy Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Everything went Kennedy Catholic's way against Auburn when the teams last played back in April, as Kennedy Catholic made off with a 20-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
