Soccer Game Preview: DeWitt vs. Hartland

The DeWitt Panthers will take on the Hartland Eagles at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. DeWitt's defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so Hartland's offense will have their work cut out for them.

If Hartland heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when DeWitt took over last week. The Panthers walked away with a 3-1 victory over Forest Hills Northern on Thursday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering DeWitt's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Forest Hills Northern are ranked 91st).

Meanwhile, Hartland had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Give Hartland's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

DeWitt's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Hartland, their win bumped their record up to 11-3-1.
