Volleyball Recap: Columbus Grove Comes Up Short on the Road Against Carey

Columbus Grove kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Carey Blue Devils by a score of 3-2. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Columbus Grove took Carey into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 25-19, 23-25, 22-25, 25-19, 15-11.

Aubrey Schroeder paced Columbus Grove's offense, picking up 15 kills. Schroeder got some help from Elyse Fortman and her 37 assists. Saige Benroth controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Columbus Grove will welcome Arlington at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Carey, they will head out on the road to square off against Van Buren at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
