Softball Recap: Cypress Creek Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Cypress Creek had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 19-run drubbing they dealt Gateway on Thursday. Everything went the Cypress Creek Bears' way against the Gateway Panthers as the Cypress Creek Bears made off with a 22-3 victory. That looming 22-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bears yet this season.

Britney Freitez was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriana Ramos, who went 1-for-2 with three runs and four RBI.

Cypress Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Cypress Creek pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Gateway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Cypress Creek will head out to challenge Wekiva at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gateway, they will welcome Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
