Preview: Springville Red Devils vs. Provo Bulldogs
Springville is 8-2 against Provo since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Springville Red Devils' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Provo Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Springville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday.
Springville's 23-3 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 47-40 to Pleasant Grove.
Springville's loss came about despite a quality game from Sami DeLlamas, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for DeLlamas. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Esplin, who scored 11 points.
Even though they lost, Springville were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Grove only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Provo, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 49-48 to Kearns.
Springville's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Provo, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Springville strolled past Provo in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 57-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Springville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
