Volleyball Recap: New Hanover Wildcats vs. West Brunswick Trojans
New Hanover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the West Brunswick Trojans. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 3-1.
New Hanover took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-19.
Maille Smith paced New Hanover's offense, picking up six kills. Smith really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 13. Justine McCague controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
New Hanover's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for West Brunswick, they moved to 4-13 with that victory, which also ended their six-match losing streak.
