Softball Recap: Onalaska Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Onalaska faced off against Trinity on Friday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 8-7. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 10-8.

Arian Shaddon and Gracie Hoover stepped up to the plate in a big way. Shaddon got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Hoover went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kayla Houser, who went 2-for-5 with one triple and two RBI.

Onalaska has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12-2 record this season. As for Trinity, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Onalaska will square off against Crockett at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Trinity, they will challenge Anderson-Shiro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Fighting Owls have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
