Football Preview: Meeker Cowboys vs. Cedaredge Bruins
Meeker has gone 10-0 against Cedaredge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. After each having a week off, both will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. Meeker will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Meeker is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped last Friday as they easily beat Grand County 40-7 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-0.
Clay Crawford continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 90 yards and a touchdown. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 61 yards. Cade Blunt was in the mix as well, providing Meeker with a touchdown.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Meeker was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 216 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 196 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.
Meeker wouldn't let Grand County keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Blunt was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance.
Meanwhile, Cedaredge got themselves on the board against Del Norte last Friday, but Del Norte never followed suit. They slipped by the Tigers 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.
The win got Meeker back to even at 2-2. As for Cedaredge, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
