Football Recap: Monta Vista Skates Past Lynbrook with Ease

Monta Vista never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 47-0 victory over the Lynbrook Vikings. That 47 point margin sets a new team best for the Matadors this season.

Monta Vista found their leader in freshman Rishika Kothari, who rushed for 61 yards and three TDs, and also threw for 168 yards and three touchdowns. Allie Rummelhoff did her part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 88 receiving yards.

Monta Vista didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off seven passes before the game was over. Adhvika Wangoo and Isobel Schweigert were the leaders of the group effort as each produced two apiece. Schweigert got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Monta Vista's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.3 points over those games. As for Lynbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
