Softball Recap: Sierra Linda Comes Up Short

If Sierra Linda was feeling good fresh off their 24-6 takedown of Washington on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell 12-9 to the Rams on Thursday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 24-6.

Yoselin Basaca led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Esmeralda Reyes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Sierra Linda dropped their record down to 2-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Washington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-11 record this season.

Sierra Linda wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-3 defeat against Independence on the 22nd. As for Washington, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-5 loss against La Joya Community on the 22nd.
