Football Recap: Needville Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Brazosport last Friday, Needville came back down to earth. The Bluejays were beaten by the Almeta Crawford Chargers 39-7 on Friday. The Bluejays were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-7.

Cameron Hall threw for 91 yards on nine of 19 attempts. Ralphie Ortiz was his top target, picking up 69 receiving yards.

Leading Almeta Crawford to victory were Dedrick Polk and Alvin Mosley. Polk gained 173 total yards and a touchdown, while Mosley gained 116 total yards and a touchdown.

Needville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Almeta Crawford, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Needville will venture away from home to challenge Fort Bend Willowridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bluejays will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Almeta Crawford, they are taking a road trip to square off against Stafford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
