Soccer Recap: Cary's Losing Streak Snapped at 11 Games

After low-scoring totals in their previous 11 game, Cary brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They never let the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for Cary as it spelled an end to their 11-game losing streak.

They hit Southeast Raleigh with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sarah Creel (2), Aleksandra 'Sasha' Marshall, Koral Hunter, and Phatima Gutierrez-Salazar.

Cary picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-12. As for Southeast Raleigh, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Cary and Southeast Raleigh could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Imps will challenge Apex at 6:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (377 vs. 60). Meanwhile, Southeast Raleigh (ranked 485th) will meet Corinth Holders (ranked 158th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
