Baseball Recap: Northwood Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

It's playoff time, and NorthWood had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Norwell Knights 3-1. Three seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Connor Reed was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Reed wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mason Bogan, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Mason Warren was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

NorthWood is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season. As for Norwell, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 18-12 record.

NorthWood has already played their next contest (against Andrean), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Norwell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
