Football Recap: Navarro Takes a Loss

After soaring to 43 points the game before, Navarro was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They fell 21-13 to Canyon Lake. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Canyon Lake got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jace Wheeler out in front who threw for 234 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt. The dominant performance also gave Wheeler a new career-high in rushing yards (21). Peyton King was Wheeler's top target, picking up 159 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Navarro now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Canyon Lake, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coming up, Navarro will look to defend their home field on Friday against La Vernia at 7:30 p.m. As for Canyon Lake, they will venture away from home to take on Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
