It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but St. Anthony ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Shenendehowa High School, sneaking past 9-7. The win was familiar territory for the Friars, who have now won seven contests in a row.

Violet Pryor was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Makayla Martinez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

St. Anthony's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Shenendehowa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2.

St. Anthony's and Shenendehowa should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Friars (ranked 28th) will meet Holy Trinity (ranked 145th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Shenendehowa will face off against Saratoga Springs at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (1 vs. 124).
