Volleyball Game Preview: Norwood Mavericks vs. Nucla Mustangs + How To Watch

The Norwood Mavericks will challenge the Nucla Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nucla took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Norwood, who comes in off a win.

While Norwood's victory against Dove Creek wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mavericks had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mavericks have posted since August 23rd.

Norwood was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-11, 24-26, 25-18, 15-8.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Nucla and Telluride, and Telluride kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Miners on Tuesday. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Miners recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

While Nucla was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-12, 25-22.

Nucla's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Norwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-14.
