Baseball Recap: Cameron Takes a Loss

Cameron fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Clay-Battelle on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cee-Bees by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Dragons couldn't push the score so high this time.

Cameron saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wes Starcher, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Starcher is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Soier Reed was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Cameron now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Clay-Battelle, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Cameron will square off against Midland Trail at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clay-Battelle, they will face off against Magnolia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
