Baseball Recap: Burrillville Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ponaganset, Burrillville was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Prout Crusaders 6-0. That's more bragging rights for the Broncos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Prout's batters probably weren't too happy with Adam DeCesare, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up two walks).

On the hitting side, Tim Casserly was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Burrillville's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Prout, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Burrillville is set to challenge their familiar foe St. Raphael Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Prout will take on rival East Greenwich at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
