Softball Recap: Orting Takes a Loss

Orting was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Ephrata Tigers, falling 9-3.

Laney Barkley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Norah Fenton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Orting was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Orting's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ephrata, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

We've got a battle between Cardinals coming up. The matchup will give Orting their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Ephrata, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-7 victory against Kennewick on the 22nd.
