Basketball Recap: Citrus Valley's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Citrus Valley came into Thursday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They wrapped up 2024 with a 57-41 victory over the South Gate Rams.

Citrus Valley found their leader in sophomore Carmine Amaya, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tysean Turner, who went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points.

The win got Citrus Valley back to even at 6-6. As for South Gate, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Citrus Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-48 defeat against Western Christian on the 27th. As for South Gate, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-40 loss against Diamond Ranch on the 27th.
