Softball Recap: Ironwood Has No Trouble Against Kellis

Ironwood won the last time they faced Kellis and things went their way on Tuesday too. Ironwood was the clear victor by a 15-5 margin over Kellis. Considering the Eagles have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Alyssa Ridgley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Arianna Norris was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Madelaine Gober was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Ironwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in eight consecutive games.

Ironwood has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. Kellis now has a losing record of 4-5.

Ironwood will have a chance to go back-to-back against Kellis: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
