Baseball Recap: Cloverdale Takes a Loss

Cloverdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Central Thunderbirds. The Clovers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Landon Duncan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cloverdale saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Corey Branigan, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Cloverdale's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for North Central, their record now sits at 4-12.

Cloverdale has already played their next contest (against Brown County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. North Central also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against North Knox.
