Football Game Preview: Chapin Eagles vs. Irmo Yellow Jackets + Official Tickets

The Chapin Eagles will challenge the Irmo Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Chapin has struggled recently with nine defeats in a row, while Irmo will arrive with eight straight wins.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Chapin and River Bluff had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles lost 33-7 to the Gators on Friday. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Gators since Friday.

The losing side was boosted by Jack Coleman, who picked up 116 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Irmo faced White Knoll in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Yellow Jackets came out on top against the Timberwolves by a score of 14-3. Those 14 points were actually the fewest the Yellow Jackets have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Irmo's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Chapin, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Chapin was dealt a bruising 38-7 defeat at the hands of Irmo in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Eagles, Aaron (Aj) Brand Jr. (who rushed for 133 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries, and also threw for 115 yards and one touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
