Gillespie won the last time they faced Jersey and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Gillespie Miners blew past the Jersey Panthers 17-10.

Owen Pau and Brody Shaw did most of the damage at the plate: Pau got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Shaw scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those three RBI gave Pau a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Schweppe, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

The win got Gillespie back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gillespie will face off against Carrollton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jersey, they will square off against Gibault Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
