Basketball Recap: New Haven Comes Up Short

New Haven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Columbia City Eagles, falling 86-44. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-21.

When it comes to explaining why New Haven lost, don't look at A'Lanah Webb. Despite the final result, she went 10-for-19 to rack up 31 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 70.5% of the Bulldogs' points, marking the 12th time in a row Webb has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Goodrich, who shot 63% from the field on her way to 10 points.

New Haven's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Columbia City, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. New Haven will challenge Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbia City, they will face off against West Noble at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
