Softball Recap: Homer Falls Short Against Ranked Kodiak

Homer faced Kodiak in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mariners came up short against the Bears, falling 14-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 on May 2nd.

Homer saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Almalinda Norman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Homer and nudges their season record down to 7-11-1. As for Kodiak, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

While Homer had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
