Basketball Game Preview: East Hardy Cougars vs. Pendleton County Wildcat

East Hardy is 1-9 against Pendleton County since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The East Hardy Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Pendleton County Wildcat at 6:00 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Brooklynn Tinnell and Avery Townsend.

East Hardy is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They came up short against Northern Garrett, falling 52-31. The Cougars were down 40-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Pendleton County earned a 60-53 win over Tygarts Valley on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcat in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.

East Hardy now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Pendleton County, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.

East Hardy came up short against Pendleton County when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 40-33. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Townsend, who posted 23 points in addition to five boards and five steals.
