Baseball Game Preview: Abington Galloping Ghosts vs. Council Rock South Golden Hawks

The Abington Galloping Ghosts will venture away from home to challenge the Council Rock South Golden Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Abington can't be to happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home last Saturday. They fell just short of Central Bucks West by a score of 9-7. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Meanwhile, Council Rock South was able to grind out a solid win over William Tennent on Tuesday, taking the game 6-1. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Hawks in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

Ryan Gallagher looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Jake Andrews was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Johnny Mendola, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Abington came out on top in a nail-biter against Council Rock South in their previous matchup back in May of 2018, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Abington since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
