Basketball Recap: Chaffee Extends Winning Streak to Three

Chaffee waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Oak Ridge Blue Jays with points to spare, taking the game 54-39. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-33 on January 8th.

Despite the loss, Oak Ridge had strong showings from Reagan Howe, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards, and Madyson Ruehling, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Howe has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Kaelyn Deckerd was another key player, putting up nine points.

Chaffee is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Oak Ridge, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-8.

Coincidentally, Chaffee and Oak Ridge will both be playing Scott County Central the next time they take the court. Oak Ridge will host Scott County Central at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Chaffee will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
