Softball Game Preview: Canyon Springs Pioneers vs. Sunrise Mountain Miners

The Canyon Springs Pioneers will venture away from home to face off against the Sunrise Mountain Miners at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Canyon Springs' hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Canyon Springs' offense. They came up short against Pahrump Valley on Wednesday, falling 16-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sunrise Mountain). They blew past Valley 27-14 on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Miners as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Canyon Springs' loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Sunrise Mountain, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-11.

Canyon Springs took their win against Sunrise Mountain in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a conclusive 21-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
