Softball Recap: Penns Manor's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

            Softball Recap: Penns Manor Comets vs. West Shamokin Wolves        
        
		
        
        
            Penns Manor dropped their record down to 6-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They came up short against  the West Shamokin Wolves, falling  18-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  18-7  two weeks ago.
 Penns Manor saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Sydney Luther, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with one  run and one  double.
As for West Shamokin, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-3. Considering they have won nine contests by more than five  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
On West Shamokin's side,  Leah Mondi was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Mondi has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Zoe Bennett was  incredible,  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances with three  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  three  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high.  Madi Keirn was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  double.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Penns Manor will square off against Ferndale at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for West Shamokin, they will head out to  face off against River Valley  at 2:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
