Recap: Austin Achieve Polar Bears vs. Caldwell Hornets

The Austin Achieve Polar Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 17th straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 52-14 loss at the hands of Caldwell. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Austin Achieve in their matchups with Caldwell: they've now lost four in a row.

Caldwell found their leader in underclassman Tyniah Johnson, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Riley Broaddus was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Austin Achieve bumped their record down to 2-17 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.0 points per game. As for Caldwell, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-17.

Austin Achieve will head out on the road to take on Giddings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Giddings has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Caldwell, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against La Grange at 6:00 p.m.
