Baseball Recap: Jupiter Has No Trouble Against Cardinal Newman

Jupiter barely beat Cardinal Newman the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Crusaders on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won nine in a row.

Ethan Trivison tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brady Blanks, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Griffin Miller was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Jupiter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cardinal Newman only posted a batting average of .167.

Jupiter's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10 runs. As for Cardinal Newman, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-3-1.

Jupiter and Cardinal Newman should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Warriors will face off against Leonard at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (47 vs. 521). Meanwhile, Cardinal Newman (ranked 12th) will meet Okeechobee (ranked 296th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
