Lingle-Fort Laramie and Southeast are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers will jump right back in to play the Southeast Cyclones at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lingle-Fort Laramie is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Lingle-Fort Laramie saw some tournament action on Thursday. They blew past Kaycee 63-17. The Doggers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Lingle-Fort Laramie's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brody Roberts led the charge by going 8-for-13 en route to 16 points. Roberts is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last 13 games he's played. Brady Cook was another key player, going 5-for-8 on his way to 10 points and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Southeast came up short against Non Varsity Opponent on Friday and fell 69-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), the Cyclones still had to take the loss.
Lingle-Fort Laramie will have to contain Ayden Desmond as he made an impact in Southeast's last game. He went 11-for-17 to rack up 26 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Desmond continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Beaux Shimic, who went 7-for-14 en route to 16 points and three steals.
Even though they lost, Southeast smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.
Southeast has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points over those games. Lingle-Fort Laramie's victory bumped their record up to 23-0.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lingle-Fort Laramie has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Southeast struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Lingle-Fort Laramie was able to grind out a solid win over Southeast when the teams last played back in January, winning 65-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lingle-Fort Laramie since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
