Softball Game Preview: Leon Cougars vs. Normangee Panthers

The Leon Cougars will face off against the Normangee Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Leon needed a bit of extra time to put away Oakwood. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 12-7. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Normangee took on Centerville on Friday. The Panthers blew past the Tigers 16-5. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Leon's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-10. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Normangee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14.

Leon took their victory against Normangee in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 19-6 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
