Football Game Preview: Sherman Bearcats vs. Frisco Raccoons

Sherman hasn't had much luck against Frisco recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bearcats will face off against the Raccoons at 7:00 p.m. Frisco took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Sherman, who comes in off a win.

Sherman took a 25-point loss the last time they faced off against Heritage, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bearcats skirted past the Coyotes 29-27. The Bearcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Frisco played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 55-35 to Lone Star. The Raccoons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-21.

Sherman will have to contain Brennen Lacey as he made an impact in Frisco's last game. He rushed for 103 yards on only six carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 80 yards. Lowery Asel also helped out with an impressive 86 receiving yards.

Sherman's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Frisco, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Sherman took a serious blow against Frisco in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 45-7. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bearcats were down 28-7.
