Baseball Recap: Harlingen South Gets the Win

Harlingen South won the last time they faced Donna and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hawks came out on top against the Redskins by a score of 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Ryan Porter looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Nick Garza was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Noah Garcia also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Harlingen South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Harlingen South's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Donna, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.

Harlingen South will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Redskins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
