Baseball Game Preview: Nottoway Cougars vs. Prince Edward County Eagles

Nottoway is 2-8 against Prince Edward County since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Nottoway came up short against Lunenburg Central on Thursday, falling 8-2. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Prince Edward County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 11-2 to Buckingham.

Prince Edward County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clevante Watkins, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. The Eagles are 2-1 when Watkins posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

Nottoway's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Prince Edward County, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
