Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Zumbrota-Mazeppa). They put the hurt on the Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs with a sharp 83-58 victory on Monday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 282nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-8. As for Plainview-Elgin-Millville, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-14.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-50 loss against Goodhue on the 4th. As for Plainview-Elgin-Millville, they will face off against Dover-Eyota at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
