Recap: Eugene Eagles vs. Linn Wildcats
The Eugene Eagles lost against the Linn Wildcats back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Eugene's rough 56-35 defeat to the Wildcats might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Eugene in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost six in a row.
Vivien Baker was nothing short of spectacular for Linn: she dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Heslie Higginbotham was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Eugene has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Linn, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.
Eugene will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. Boonville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Missouri (the Pirates are ranked 86th, while the Eagles are ranked 474th). As for Linn, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m.
