New Smyrna Beach and University are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The New Smyrna Beach Barracudas will be playing in front of their home fans against the University Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Smyrna Beach will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, New Smyrna Beach needed a bit of extra time to put away Atlantic. They skirted past the Sharks 2-1.

James Kobylanski tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, New Smyrna Beach's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Logan Everidge, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University). They came out on top against Deltona by a score of 6-1 on Friday.

New Smyrna Beach pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for University, the victory got them back to even at 2-2-2.

New Smyrna Beach beat University 7-2 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does New Smyrna Beach have another victory up their sleeve, or will University turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
