Basketball Recap: Dylan Bradley Key Part of a Team Effort in Spartans Win

Gaston Day won the last time they faced SouthLake Christian Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Gaston Day Spartans snuck past the SouthLake Christian Academy Eagles with a 70-64 victory. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Eagles are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gaston Day's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dylan Bradley, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Deshawn Coulter, who had 14 points.

Gaston Day has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.1 points per game. As for SouthLake Christian Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gaston Day will head out to challenge Gaston Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for SouthLake Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Metrolina Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
