Baseball Recap: Algoma Takes a Loss

Algoma fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Peshtigo on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-5 to the Bulldogs. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 12-6.

Braeden Leist was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cal DeMeuse, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Algoma's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Peshtigo, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Algoma will square off against Two Rivers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Peshtigo, they will challenge Roncalli at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
