After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blazer, Russell was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-14 win over the Fleming County Panthers. Considering the Red Devils have won three contests by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayden Frasure continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 365 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 46 yards and one score. Those 365 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Jayden Pennington was Frasure's top target, picking up 172 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Another reason for the win was Russell's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Zack Brown was especially locked on to Fleming County's QB and sacked him twice. The game marked Brown's first with multiple sacks this season.

Russell pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.3 points over those games. As for Fleming County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, Russell and Fleming County will both be playing Lewis County the next time they take the field. The Panthers will head out to face the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Red Devils will host them at 7:30 p.m. on October 10.
