Jerome came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Filer Wildcats, falling 9-3. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Ellie Helmer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Gararad, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Jerome's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Filer, their win bumped their record up to 7-11-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Jerome beat the Wildcats by a score of 16-5 later that day.
