Softball Game Preview: Estrella Foothills Wolves vs. Cactus Cobras

For the second straight game, Estrella Foothills will face off against Cactus. The Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Cobras at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Estrella Foothills has given up an average of 15.1 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cactus hit Estrella Foothills with a five-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolves came up short against the Cobras, falling 13-3.

For Cactus' part, Ciara Anthony made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Anthony has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Rhyan Enos was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Charley Enos was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

Cactus kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.

Estrella Foothills has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's still a better percentage than their 4-19 record this season. As for Cactus, their record now sits at 11-9.
