Baseball Recap: Lincoln Lions vs. Hilliard Bradley Jaguars
Lincoln extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 6-13 in the process. They fell 8-5 to the Hilliard Bradley Jaguars. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
Lincoln saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Roberts, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Anthony Pernotto also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
As for Hilliard Bradley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-12. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.
On Hilliard Bradley's side, Keaton Bowers was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Jonathan Ritch was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Looking ahead, Lincoln will take on Licking Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Hilliard Bradley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hilliard Darby at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
